A Personal Animal Kingdom
My practice explores the interconnectedness of animals, nature and the environment through imagined hybrid creatures. Each composition brings together distinctive physical traits and characteristics from different species, forming a new creature in which every individual element contributes to the whole.
These hybrid forms represent cooperation, coexistence and ecological interdependence. By combining animals that would not ordinarily exist together, I create a personal animal kingdom that celebrates biodiversity and encourages viewers to recognise the importance of every species.
Intricate line work, layered details, textured surfaces and carefully selected colour are central to my process. Through these works, I hope to express that no animal exists in isolation and that every species contributes to the wider ecological system.
